How to make Chemistry fun with the kids

Need a way to teach the kids math and science in a fun and interesting way?

Here's a way that you can teach both subjects at the same time, with items you have around the house.

Take out your favourite cookie recipe, for example, Chocolate Chip Cookies! You're going to show them the change in results when leaving one or more ingredients out of the original recipe.

Divide your recipe of cookies into 4 equal parts. This allows you to demonstrate how to use division and fractions.

Make one of those batches with the normal recipe.

On the second batch, leave the egg out on purpose.

Third batch, leave the leavening agent out on purpose, for example the baking soda or baking powder.

Fourth batch, leave the flour out.

Now bake each batch separately and see how the resulting cookies turn out. You should have 3 or 4 edible cookies at the end of it all!
